HELP WANTED!
Sussex County Interfaith Hospitality Network is looking for a handyman to work on some special projects over the Summer (plastering, painting, light electrical, etc.)  They can pay an hourly wage, although not as much as a handyman could make elsewhere.  If interested, please call the IHN office at (973) 579-1180.  Also, they are looking for a volunteer who can help them organize their "stuff" a few hours a week. Needs to be able to "lift and schlep".  Director Anny Murphy reports they have a full house right now - 7 children, 7 adults.

UPCOMING EVENTS!

*There will be a very short Congregational Meeting after worship on July 6th to hear a report of the Nominating Committee & elect Henen Antcliff to the 2010 Class of Session.
*One-piece plastic chairs, pre-teen size, some yellow, some blue, are offered to the congregation at no cost on a first-come, first serve basis. They are not needed by the Sunday School and have been stored in the church's attic for years!  They are now in the Great Hall.  Those chairs not taken by the congregation will be offered to local churches and charities.  - Property Committee
*Mark Westerfield wil be our guest preacher next Sunday.  Mark will share with us his Mission trip experiences.  Mark and his son Jonathan returned last week from a week at a Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Workshop in New Orleans.
*Pastro Rhonda will be on Continuing Education this week, and out of the office.  If you have a personal emergency, call the church office and every efforrt will be made to give you assistance.
*Sussex County Interfaith Hospitality Network (I.H.N.) guests will be arriving July 4th and your help is needed to meet our committment to host IHN for two weeks again this year.  Many hands make for light work.
*Sussex Skyhawks Ballgame - Back by popular demand!  So many members of the church have asked for another church outing to Augusta to see the Sussex Skyhawks play that Pastor Rhonda is looking into purchasing group tickets for Sunday, June 29th game against the Atlantic City Surf.  Game time is 2:05 P.M., and tickets are $8.00 each.  If you ordered baseball tickets for this game, please speak to the Pastor as she has your tickets..
*VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  Sign up to help!
* Attention Seniors:  If you are age 60+, a Sussex County resident, and your total annual income does not exceed $19,240 for singles or $25,900 for couples, you are eligible to receive vouchers worth $20 that can be spent at NJ Fresh Farm Stands.  Proxies may be assigned for the homebound.  Contact Sussex County Division of Senior Services at (973) 579-0555.
P.W. Kitchen Shower.  We are in need of new hand towels, dish cloths & pot holders for use in our church kitchen.  Your donation is appreciated!

We will celebrate Graduate Recognition Sunday on June 22nd at our 11:00 A.M. service.  If you have a graduate in your household, please leave information with the Church Secretary, Kathie Drew (973) 827-6444 regarding:  name, school & graduate level.

Please plan to join us for an old-time summer favorite "ICE CREAM SOCIAL" on Saturday, June 28th at 7:00 P.M.
CASA Volunteers - The Court Appointed Advocates (CASA) programs are recruiting volunteers to serve as advocates for the abused/neglected children.  Such volunteers help facilitate placement of children into a permanent home and represent the child's best interest in family court.  CASA volunteers must be 21 years of age or older and have a sincere desire to help abused/neglected children.  To become a CASA volunteer, call (973) 579-0723.

ALL information for the next edition of the CHIMER should be left in the Church Office or contact Barbara Collver.  No handwritten material please! Thank you!
DEACON'S FOOD PANTRY MISSION:  The shelves are bare and food is greatly needed!
Items to be brought in for May/June:
  • Puddings, Snacks, Cake Mixes, Macaroni & Cheese, Shampoo, Soap, Toothpaste, Cereal, Pop Tarts, Oatmeal.
Things to collect all year:
  • Super market bags (brown & plastic).

Also for Samaritan Inn:  They will be collecting small appliances (coffeepots, toaster ovens, alarm clocks, etc.) and linens (towels, sheets, pillowcases) for their guests.
The Worship Committee is looking for Lay Readers.  If you would be interested in being a Lay Reader during worship some Sunday, please speak with Pastor Rhonda or Elder Lynn Hayn.  Lay participation in worship is a vital part of our Presbyterian faith and heritage.
The Session would like to ask that when submitting a Prayer Request for an individual, be sure to let the church office know the reason for the request  -- e.g. recovering from surgery/illness/injury; dealing with a personal loss; facing a chronic illness; serving overseas in the military, etc.  This will make our prayers more specific and will enable us to write cards that are more unique to the person for whom prayers are offered.  Thank you in advance!
One of the programs that the Deacons have organized is a "Food Chain" which provides meals to those in our congregation who are temporarily physically unable to prepare meals for themselves, or their families, due to illness.  If we can have many members in the "chain", then the need to provide frequent meals is reduced to a minimum (this is one situation where too many cooks do not spoil the broth).  Please think about joining our "Food Chain"- you can leave your name and phone number with the Church Secretary in the Church office (973) 827-6444)), or on the sign-up sheet at the rear of the sanctuary.
